Additional Information: How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying first opened to critical acclaim on Broadway in 1961. Running for 1,417 performances, the show won seven Tony Awards, a Grammy, and is one of only eight musicals to win the Pulitzer Prize for drama. A wonderfully funny satire of big business, the production tells the story of J. Pierrepont Finch, a young window washer who follows the advice of a book entitled How to Succeed in Business to climb the corporate ladder from mail room to high-powered executive while tackling such familiar dangers as the aggressively compliant “company man,” the office party, backstabbing coworkers, and caffeine addiction. Along the way, Finch’s unorthodox, yet hysterically humorous, business practices propel not only his meteoric rise to the top, but also his romance with secretary, Rosemary Pilkington. Packed with an amazing musical score by Frank Loesser, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying additionally showcases numerous beloved standards such as “I Believe in You,” “Happy to Keep His Dinner Warm,” “The Company Way,” “Been a Long Day,” “Rosemary,” and “Brotherhood of Man.”

With a catchy, witty score, a biting sense of humor, a charming anti-hero, and a host of quirky supporting characters, Mira Costa Drama/Tech’s production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is sure to be a hit. Power, greed, ambition… it’s all in a day’s work! Don’t miss it. Get your tickets and join us for this marvelous musical romp!!
