On Monday, September 16, out singer-songwriter Mike Maimone will return to the stage for a powerful, full-band performance at The Mint in Los Angeles. It will be his first live show since the passing of his husband, legendary publicist and LGBTQ+ advocate Howard Bragman.
The night will be a deeply personal one for Maimone, who will debut “Forever Again,” an emotional ballad written for Bragman to celebrate their engagement and the love they shared. Originally penned to soothe fears about starting over after both had experienced past relationship trauma, the song took on even greater resonance after Bragman’s death in 2023. Maimone now calls it “a vital part of our story.”

Taking the stage at 8:25 PM, Maimone will be joined by a powerhouse lineup of musicians, including De'Mar Hamilton (Plain White T's) on drums and Marc Walloch (Beck, AWOLNATION, Company of Thieves) on bass. Doors open at 7 PM.
“Forever Again,” the fifth single from Maimone’s upcoming album Guess What? I Love You, will be officially released on August 15. The song closes out the album’s Side A, which chronicles the early days of Maimone and Bragman’s relationship—from their first flirty encounter on Scruff to their commitment to marry. Side B explores the emotional landscape of grief and healing, concluding with a message of resilience and hope.
Maimone, a soulful, piano-driven artist whose style has drawn comparisons to Dr. John and Leon Russell, has built a career defined by authenticity and relentless touring. He’s performed over 100 shows a year since 2006, both as a solo artist and with his band Mutts, and has shared the stage with musical icons, including Stevie Wonder in a tribute performance honoring Bragman.

As Maimone says of “Forever Again”: “We never move on; we move forward, carrying their love with us.” It’s this message—of healing without forgetting—that will echo throughout The Mint this September.
